PICK AN PLUCK FOAM
Pick and Pluck is a Foam insert that consists of blocks pre-scored high-density foam that can be easily "plucked" to provide a snug fit for equipment and accessories. Pick and Pluck inserts will protect your equipment in even the toughest and most abusive trips. Also known as Pinch & Tear, Diced Foam, Pick N Pluck or Perforated Foam.
TIPS ON HOW TO PICK AND PLUCK
- Place all of your equipment on top of the pre-cut grid. Distribute until you have a suitable arrangement. Leave adequate space between each piece of equipment.
- Light weight items minimum separation: 1/2"
- Delicate light weight items (e.g.. cameras, laptops) suggested separation: 1" to 1-1/2"
- Medium weight items (10 to 20 lbs.): 1-1/2" to 2" of separation.
- Heavier items: consider using a firmer material (closed cell Polyethylene foam) or a combination of open cell Polyurethane with a cap of closed cell Polyethylene foam.
- For maximum protection keep equipment inside pre-cut grid area.
- Handy hint: For reference guide stick toothpicks in at four corners of plug to be removed. CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY remove whole plug in one piece.
- Insert equipment into designated areas. Item should fit very snugly in all directions. With smaller pieces of equipment, save removed foam plugs; cut to correct height and replace (your smaller equipment is now easily accessible).
- If you find you’ve made a mistake and have any loose areas, cut off corresponding piece from cutout and glue back to wall with spray contact adhesive made for polyester foam (3M™ Super 77 Spray Adhesive is available at most art or office supply stores). Follow the application directions on the spray can.
